The sailing adventure will begin from one of our base camps.  Outward Bound Wilderness provides all the gear and food that you need for your trip. All you need to bring are clothes and toiletries. You will pack your gear in a water-tight bag, learn some basic sailing skills, load your sailboat, and set sail on a course that your instructors have planned.  The course will be a great mix of challenge, beauty, and fun.

      Days consist of navigating, traveling, reading the weather, and learning the skills of sailing.  You will also be getting to know yourself on the open waters. You will at times be a leader, at times be following; but throughout the journey most importantly you will be growing.  Challenges offer a great view into just how strong you are and how strong you can be.  At night you will find a safe place to anchor your ship and prepare food for the evening.  You and your teammates will take night watch shifts. There is nothing quite as peaceful as sitting quietly at night on the open water.  And to greet the day, you will take a dip in the ocean.

   You will also have plenty of time for introspection when your instructors take you ashore for your "solo". Solo is one of the greatest traditions of Outward Bound.  You will be left at a safe location with the proper tools for a period of time. During that time you will get to practice the new wilderness and self-confidence skills you have been learning on course.  There will also be ample time to reflect on your life - where it has been, where it is, and where you want it to go. 

   By the end of your course your instructors will expect you and your group to be leading. As a group you will delegate the day's responsibilities.  Some will navigate, others sail, and others will take care of the needs of the group - like preparing food and water.  Lastly, your instructors will create a final challenge for you to show you how much you have grown.
